RESOLUTION No. ____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing Shen Yun.
2 Whereas, Shen Yun will be returning to Clowes Memorial
3 Hall at Butler University in Indianapolis on March 22 and
4 March 23, 2025;
5 Whereas, Since it was established in 2006, Shen Yun has
6 become a global sensation, touring over 200 cities worldwide
7 each year;
8 Whereas, Shen Yun has grown to eight equally sized
9 companies that feature a live orchestra and completely new
10 choreography each year;
11 Whereas, Shen Yun translates to "The Beauty of Divine
12 Beings Dancing", and the performances are a brilliant artistic
13 revival of China's rich cultural heritage;
14 Whereas, Shen Yun showcases classical Chinese dance with
15 a live animation backdrop, and combines Eastern instruments
16 with a Western symphony orchestra, taking the audience on a
17 journey through 5,000 years of Chinese culture;
18 Whereas, Shen Yun transports its audience through various
19 legends, regions, and dynasties — from the magical adventures
20 of the Monkey King to the delicate elegance of Tang court
21 ladies, from explorations of the timeless philosophical works of
22 Laozi to spectacular scenes of enchanted realms;
23 Whereas, Through the universal language of dance and
24 music, Shen Yun weaves stories of heavenly realms, ancient

1 heroic legends, and modern-day epics; and
2 Whereas, Shen Yun evokes themes of virtue, compassion,
3 and courage, leaving millions of spectators from around the
4 globe and diverse cultural backgrounds filled with joy, hope,
5 energy, and peace: Therefore,
6 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
7 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
8 the Senate concurring:
9 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly recognizes
10 Shen Yun as they perform in Indianapolis on March 22 and 23,
11 2025.
12 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
13 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
14 Representative Craig Haggard for distribution.
