77 1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing Indiana 4-H's work
88 2 to advance positive youth development in the state.
99 3 Whereas, Indiana 4-H was established in 1904 in Hamilton
1010 4 County by John F. Haines, a school superintendent, to develop
1111 5 young boys and girls in the state;
1212 6 Whereas, 4-H members consistently demonstrate the ability
1313 7 and leadership necessary to be champions and serve as
1414 8 outstanding representatives and officers of the young people of
1515 9 Indiana;
1616 10 Whereas, The Purdue University Extension 4-H youth
1717 11 development program offers educational programming in
1818 12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics, healthy
1919 13 living, and civic engagement to over 163,000 youth each year
2020 14 in partnership with all 92 Indiana counties and thousands of

2323 1 4-H volunteers;
2424 2 Whereas, Community clubs, after-school programs,
2525 3 in-school programs, camps, and workshops give 4-H members
2626 4 across Indiana an opportunity to be among the youngest
2727 5 students at Purdue University;
2828 6 Whereas, Indiana 4-H successfully prepares youth for
2929 7 employment, enlistment, and education, with 72 percent of
3030 8 Indiana 4-H high school graduates having attended
3131 9 post-secondary institutions over the past six years, and 86
3232 10 percent of those were enrolled at institutions within the state of
3333 11 Indiana;
3434 12 Whereas, Justice Ulmet of Monroe County, Lauren Lacey of
3535 13 Wayne County, Lennon Woods of Montgomery County, Macy
3636 14 Young of Ripley County, Maddie Bedel of Vanderburgh County,
3737 15 Claire Donaldson of Lake County, Carolanne Lorenzoni of
3838 16 Marion County, Marley King of Elkhart County, and Emily
3939 17 Greene of Warren County serve with distinction and dedication
4040 18 as the 2024-2025 class of Indiana 4-H ambassadors,
4141 19 representing the interests, beliefs, and desires of all 4-H
4242 20 members of the state;
4343 21 Whereas, Sarah Kuhn of Allen County, Brooklyn Albertson
4444 22 of Boone County, Abigail Montemer of Hamilton County, Noah
4545 23 Miller of Lake County, Justice Ulmet of Monroe County, and
4646 24 Evelyn Stallings of Warrick County were selected to represent
4747 25 Indiana at the 103rd National 4-H Congress; and
4848 26 Whereas, It is fitting and proper that the outstanding
4949 27 accomplishments of these extraordinary individuals be
5050 28 recognized: Therefore,
5151 29 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
5252 30 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
5353 31 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
5454 32 recognizes February 11, 2025, as 4-H Day at the Statehouse and
5555 33 commends both the Purdue University Extension 4-H youth
5656 34 development program and each of the national and state
5757 35 recognized honorees for their numerous accomplishments and

6161 2 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
6262 3 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution for
6363 4 distribution to the Purdue Extension 4-H youth development
