77 1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing Reman Day.
88 2 Whereas, Remanufacturing is a comprehensive and rigorous
99 3 industrial process by which a previously sold, leased, used,
1010 4 worn, remanufactured, or nonfunctional product or part is
1111 5 returned to a like-new, same-as-when-new, or
1212 6 better-than-when-new condition, from both a quality and
1313 7 performance perspective, through a controlled, reproducible,
1414 8 and sustainable process;
1515 9 Whereas, A 2012 United States International Trade
1616 10 Commission (USITC) report found that remanufacturers
1717 11 support at least 180,000 full-time jobs in the United States. The
1818 12 USITC report states that production of remanufactured goods
1919 13 in the United States increased by 15 percent from 2009 to 2011
2020 14 and exports totaled $11.2 billion annually;

2323 1 Whereas, Remanufacturing has been recognized by leading
2424 2 universities, research institutions, and manufacturers in the
2525 3 United States as valuable for its ability to divert end-of-life
2626 4 products from landfills;
2727 5 Whereas, By encouraging businesses, state agencies,
2828 6 nonprofit organizations, schools, and individuals to celebrate
2929 7 Reman Day 2025, we can further promote remanufacturing as
3030 8 efficient and economically smart; and
3131 9 Whereas, To focus the nation's attention on the benefits of
3232 10 remanufacturing, businesses, educational institutions, and
3333 11 nonprofit organizations have joined together to celebrate
3434 12 Reman Day and are encouraging their colleagues, friends,
3535 13 families, and communities to learn more about the benefits of
3636 14 remanufactured products: Therefore,
3737 15 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
3838 16 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
3939 17 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
4040 18 recognizes Thursday, April 24, 2025, as Reman Day.
4141 19 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
4242 20 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
4343 21 Representative Robb Greene for distribution.
