11 | 11 | | 5 sections of surrounding counties and named it after Kentucky |

13 | 13 | | 7 Whereas, Bowling Green was named the county seat as it |

14 | 14 | | 8 was the only community in the county founded before 1830. The |

15 | 15 | | 9 first post office was opened there in 1825, and the county's first |

16 | 16 | | 10 courthouse was completed in 1828; |

17 | 17 | | 11 Whereas, Relocation efforts to move the county courthouse |

18 | 18 | | 12 and the county seat to Brazil began in 1871, and the relocation |

19 | 19 | | 13 was finally granted in 1876. The current Clay County |

30 | 30 | | 8 stabilize the economy. Commercial truck and trailer |

31 | 31 | | 9 manufacturer Great Dane has called the county home for over |

32 | 32 | | 10 30 years and employs more than 1,500 workers. Other |

33 | 33 | | 11 industrial leaders with manufacturing operations in Clay |

34 | 34 | | 12 County are BrickCraft, Indiana Oxide, Britt Aero, Technifab |
