25 | 25 | | 9 Representatives met for the purpose of organization of each |

26 | 26 | | 10 house and to conduct the public business of the people of the |

28 | 28 | | 12 Whereas, The Senate and the House of Representatives |

29 | 29 | | 13 shall operate on their own respective schedules, having been |

30 | 30 | | 14 separated from each other pursuant to IC 2-2.1-1-2; |

31 | 31 | | 15 Whereas, During the consideration of legislative business, |
---|
32 | 32 | | 16 each house may, in the respective judgment of the President |
---|
33 | 33 | | 17 Pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of |
---|
34 | 34 | | 18 Representatives, deem it necessary to adjourn and recess for |
---|
35 | 35 | | 19 periods in excess of three (3) consecutive days and to operate |
---|
36 | 36 | | 20 on a schedule different from the other house; |
---|
37 | 37 | | 21 Whereas, Article 4, Section 10 of the Constitution of the |
---|
38 | 38 | | 22 State of Indiana states that neither house shall, without the |
---|
39 | 39 | | 23 consent of the other, adjourn for more than three (3) |
---|
40 | 40 | | 24 consecutive days; |
---|
41 | 41 | | 25 Whereas, Each house desires to consent to any |

47 | 47 | | 5 intend to recess after November 19, 2024, and meet again on |

48 | 48 | | 6 January 8, 2025, to conduct legislative business: Therefore, |

49 | 49 | | 7 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly |

50 | 50 | | 8 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives |

52 | 52 | | 10 SECTION 1. That each House of the 124th Indiana General |
---|
53 | 53 | | 11 Assembly hereby consents to any adjournment or recess of the |
---|
54 | 54 | | 12 other House during the First Regular Session of the 124th |
---|
55 | 55 | | 13 General Assembly for a period in excess of three (3) days, |
---|
56 | 56 | | 14 where such recess or adjournment is approved, in the case of |
---|
57 | 57 | | 15 the Senate, by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, or, in |
---|
58 | 58 | | 16 the case of the House of Representatives, by the Speaker of the |
---|
59 | 59 | | 17 House of Representatives. |

60 | 60 | | 18 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed |

61 | 61 | | 19 to inform the House of Representatives of the passage of the |
