1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the
2 Lawrence North High School girls basketball team on winning
3 the 2025 Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA)
4 Class 4A state championship title.
5 Whereas, On March 1, 2025, the Lawrence North girls
6 basketball team finished their season at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
7 in Indianapolis, Indiana, by winning their second state title in
8 program history and first since 2020;
9 Whereas, With a season record of 19-8, the Lawrence
10 North Lady Wildcats ranked third overall in Class 4A, having
11 advanced to the state championship game against Warsaw
12 Community High School after besting Gibson Southern 69-46
13 in the Semi-State Semifinals and Pike 45-44 in the Semi-State
14 Championships;
15 Whereas, During the championship game, the Lady
16 Wildcats were on fire with an 18-point lead with 53 seconds left
17 in the third quarter when Warsaw went on a 3-point shooting
18 rampage to close the deficit to 60-57 with 31 seconds left, but
19 the Wildcats rallied back to secure the win;
20 Whereas, Ke'Adriah "KeKe" Butler scored 20 points to lead
21 the Wildcats to victory, including four free throws in the final
22 25 seconds, while senior center Jamaya Thomas scored 14
23 points on 7-of-9 shooting, junior Kalea Bentley scored 12
24 points, and junior Naja Winston made nine points and 14

1 rebounds;
2 Whereas, The Lawrence North Lady Wildcats, through hard
3work and determination, won the state championship game with
4a final score of 65-59; and
5 Whereas, The Lady Wildcats finished their 2025 season with
6a final record of 20-8 under the leadership of Head Coach
7Stephen Thomas to win their second state title in program
8history: Therefore,
9 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
10 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
11 concurring:
12 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
13congratulates the Lawrence North High School girls basketball
14team on winning the 2025 IHSAA 4A state championship.
15 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
16to transmit copies of this Resolution to Head Coach Stephen
17Thomas, Assistant Coaches Tyler Etherington and Consuelo
18Sanders, and each member of the Lawrence North High School
19girls basketball team.
