SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MR. PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION memorializing Officer Dave
2 Sutton of the Clermont Police Department.
3 Whereas, Officer David Sutton served honorably as a
4 police officer for over 20 years and always had the public's best
5 interest in mind;
6 Whereas, During his time as a police officer, David was
7 actively involved in the Clermont community. His presence was
8 a source of reassurance to the community and he made many
9 long-standing relationships with his brothers and sisters in
10 blue;
11 Whereas, David was nicknamed "Tackleberry", which
12 reflected his readiness and knowledge in handling various
13 weapons;
14 Whereas, David took pride in his career and impressive
15 collections, but nothing compared to the pride he felt for his
16 daughter, Kayte. She was his greatest joy and most treasured
17 accomplishment; and
18 Whereas, On July 10, 2024, David passed away

1 unexpectedly. He is survived by his daughter, Kayte, his
2 parents, Linda and David, his sister, Dana and nieces and
3 nephews: Therefore,
4 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
5 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
6 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate memorializes Officer
7 David Sutton.
8 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
9 to send two copies of this Resolution to the family of Officer
10 David Sutton.
