10 | 10 | Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas: | |
11 | 11 | Section 1. (a) The attorney general shall appoint a statewide drug | |
12 | 12 | abuse resistance education (D.A.R.E.) educator and, within the limits of | |
13 | 13 | appropriations available therefor, such additional staff as necessary to | |
14 | 14 | support the functions and responsibilities of the D.A.R.E. educator. | |
15 | 15 | (b) The D.A.R.E. educator shall: | |
16 | 16 | (1) Provide instruction on drug abuse using a curriculum approved by | |
17 | 17 | the attorney general that includes content on fentanyl and other opioid | |
18 | 18 | drugs to students in public elementary and secondary schools; | |
19 | 19 | (2) report annually to the legislature on any modifications to the | |
20 | 20 | curriculum utilized by the attorney general and provide the names and | |
21 | 21 | addresses of the public schools serviced by the program; and | |
22 | 22 | (3) perform other services and provide material and information as | |
23 | 23 | required to support the D.A.R.E. program in Kansas. | |
24 | 24 | Sec. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its | |
25 | 25 | publication in the statute book. | |
