| 9 | 9 | | Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas: |

| 10 | 10 | | Section 1. K.S.A. 35-107 is hereby amended to read as follows: 35- |

| 11 | 11 | | 107. (a) On and after January 1, 2006, The following days are declared to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | be legal public holidays and are to be observed as such: |

| 13 | 13 | | New Year's Day, January 1; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the third Monday in January; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | President's Day, the third Monday in February; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Memorial Day, the last Monday in May; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Independence Day, July 4; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Labor Day, the first Monday in September; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Columbus Day, the second Monday in October; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Veterans' Day, the eleventh day in November; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Election Day, the Tuesday following the first Monday in even- |
