Dear Representative Francis:

SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2220 by House Committee on Transportation

In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2220 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.

HB 2220 would permit local authorities with jurisdiction over city residence districts to
reduce the maximum speed limit in their respective residence districts to 25 miles per hour without
an engineering and traffic investigation.

The League of Kansas Municipalities states enactment of the bill would have a negligible
fiscal effect on Kansas cities. The Kansas Association of Counties states the bill would not have
a fiscal effect on Kansas counties. The Kansas Department of Transportation indicates the
enactment of the bill would not have a fiscal effect on agency operations.

 	Sincerely,

 	Director of the Budget
