10 | 10 | Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas: | |
11 | 11 | Section 1. K.S.A. 22-2510 is hereby amended to read as follows: 22- | |
12 | 12 | 2510. (a) A search warrant may be executed at any time of any day or | |
13 | 13 | night. | |
14 | 14 | (b) A law enforcement officer executing a search warrant at a | |
15 | 15 | dwelling shall be properly uniformed and shall knock on the door and | |
16 | 16 | announce their presence in a manner reasonably expected to be heard by | |
17 | 17 | the occupants of the dwelling before entering the dwelling to execute a | |
18 | 18 | search warrant. | |
19 | 19 | (c) For the purposes of this section, "dwelling" means a building, or | |
20 | 20 | portion thereof, that is used or intended for use as a human habitation, | |
21 | 21 | home or residence. | |
22 | 22 | Sec. 2. K.S.A. 22-2510 is hereby repealed. | |
23 | 23 | Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its | |
24 | 24 | publication in the statute book. | |
