8+cosmetology to issue temporary location permits and temporary guest
9+body artist permits; establishing criteria to issue such permits;
10+amending K.S.A. 2024 Supp. 65-1958 and repealing the existing
11+section.
612 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
7-Section 1. K.S.A. 2024 Supp. 65-1958 is hereby amended to read
8-as follows: 65-1958. (a) Any person may apply to the Kansas state
9-board of cosmetology for a demonstration temporary location or
10-temporary guest artist permit. Any such application shall be on a form
11-and in a manner approved by the board and accompanied by the fee
12-established under K.S.A. 65-1950, and amendments thereto.
13-(b) (1) The board may grant a temporary location permit to a
14-person authorized under K.S.A. 65-1940 through 65-1954, and
15-amendments thereto. If a person who applies for a temporary location
16-permit is not licensed in this state, the board may grant a temporary
17-location permit if:

22+licensed in this state, the board may grant a temporary location permit if:

1824 (A) Such person is licensed to practice such profession regulated
1925 under K.S.A. 65-1940 through 65-1954, and amendments thereto, in
2026 another state or jurisdiction; and
21-(B) such license has not been revoked, suspended or conditioned
22-from the practice of such profession.

2329 (2) The board may grant a demonstration temporary guest artist
2430 permit to a person to provide services authorized under K.S.A. 65-1940
2531 through 65-1954, and amendments thereto, at a state or national
2632 convention, an establishment licensed by the Kansas state board of
27-cosmetology or any other event location approved by the board. If a
28-person who applies for a demonstration temporary guest artist permit
29-to provide such services is not licensed in this state, the board may
30-grant a demonstration temporary guest artist permit if:

3475 (B) such license has not been revoked, suspended or conditioned
3576 from the practice of such profession.
3677 (2)(3) If an application for a demonstration temporary location or
37-temporary guest artist permit is submitted by a citizen of a foreign
38-country who has not been issued a social security number and who has
39-not nor been licensed by any other state, the board shall not require the
40-applicant to submit a social security number and shall instead accept a
41-valid visa or passport identification number.
42-(3) (4) Any demonstration temporary location or temporary
43-guest artist permit issued under this section shall expire not later than
44-14 days after issuance of by the board.
