8 | 8 | | healthy brain development and sustainable success of Kansas children; and |

9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Research clearly shows that a child's experience from birth to age five determines |

10 | 10 | | the trajectory of such child's entire lifeāfrom social and environmental development and academic |

11 | 11 | | achievements and career success; and |

12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Parents are a child's first teachers, and they play a crucial role in ensuring healthy |

13 | 13 | | development throughout their developmental stages; and |

14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Exposure to positive factors, especially stable and responsive relationships with |

15 | 15 | | parents, child care providers, early childhood educators and other caring adults, promotes overall |

17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Investing in a strong foundation helps children develop the skills they need to |

18 | 18 | | become independent adults who thrive and contribute to their communities; and |

19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The return on our investment in child care, early childhood home visitation, |

20 | 20 | | healthcare and education stands out as a particularly unique benefit to our state, which will |

21 | 21 | | ultimately save taxpayers dollars in other programs later in life; and |

22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Access to high-quality, safe, affordable child care and early childhood educational |

23 | 23 | | opportunities is critical for Kansas children to succeed and our state's economy to grow and prosper; |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Children born today will be the citizens and leaders in the decades ahead; and |

26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Investing in our future leaders now will determine Kansas' trajectory for |

28 | 28 | | Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Kansas: That we designate |

29 | 29 | | February 5, 2025, as Early Childhood Advocacy Day; and |

30 | 30 | | Be it further resolved: That we recognize the parents, child care providers, home visitors, |

31 | 31 | | healthcare workers and all early childhood professionals who support young children in the most |

32 | 32 | | critical period of development in their lives; and |

33 | 33 | | Be it further resolved: That our ongoing investment in early childhood services and high-quality, |

34 | 34 | | affordable and licensed child care is an investment in the current and future economic strength of |
