44 WHEREAS, Michael Young is the visionary behind the remarkable

66 on the Kansas Capitol tour; and
77 WHEREAS, Through his creativity and dedication, Michael Young
88 brilliantly captured the significance of this pivotal moment in history,
99 reminding us of Kansas' commitment to justice and equality; and
1010 WHEREAS, The mural serves as a striking visual representation of
1111 progress and a powerful tool to spark meaningful conversations about
1212 civil rights; and
1313 WHEREAS, Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas,
1414 stands as a landmark United States Supreme Court case that declared
1515 racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional and affirmed that
1616 segregation violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14

1818 Amendment of the Constitution of the United States; and
1919 WHEREAS, The Brown v. Board of Education landmark decision in
2020 1954 became a monumental step in the fight for civil rights; and
