5 | 5 | | employers to help students overcome challenges and prepare for successful futures; |

7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, JAG-K is an evidence-based program with objective |

8 | 8 | | performance measures; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In a small group-classroom setting, students explore career |
---|
10 | 10 | | opportunities and learn the skills necessary to successfully transition to |
---|
11 | 11 | | postsecondary education, military service or the workforce following their |
---|
12 | 12 | | graduation; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, In 2024-2025, there are 114 JAG-K programs, including focused |
---|
14 | 14 | | programming for system-involved youth who are unable to participate in the |
---|
15 | 15 | | traditional school-to-career programs; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, JAG-K had a statewide graduation rate of 98% for the Class of |
---|
17 | 17 | | 2024; and |

18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, JAG-K students are in the Capitol today, meeting with |
---|
19 | 19 | | Legislators about this successful program: Now, therefore, |

21 | 21 | | Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Kansas: That we recognize January |

22 | 22 | | 30, 2025, as JAG-K Day at the Capitol; and |

23 | 23 | | Be it further resolved: That the Secretary of the Senate shall send an enrolled |

24 | 24 | | copy of this resolution to Senator Bowers. |
