11 SENATE RESOLUTION No. 1707
22 A RESOLUTION designating January 30, 2025, as JAG-K Day at the Capitol.
33 WHEREAS, Jobs for America's Graduates-Kansas (JAG-K) is a 50l(c)(3)
44 not-for-profit organization that partners with public schools, communities and
55 employers to help students overcome challenges and prepare for successful futures;
66 and
77 WHEREAS, JAG-K is an evidence-based program with objective
88 performance measures; and
99 WHEREAS, In a small group-classroom setting, students explore career
1010 opportunities and learn the skills necessary to successfully transition to
1111 postsecondary education, military service or the workforce following their
1212 graduation; and
1313 WHEREAS, In 2024-2025, there are 114 JAG-K programs, including focused
1414 programming for system-involved youth who are unable to participate in the
1515 traditional school-to-career programs; and
1616 WHEREAS, JAG-K had a statewide graduation rate of 98% for the Class of
1717 2024; and
1818 WHEREAS, JAG-K students are in the Capitol today, meeting with
1919 Legislators about this successful program: Now, therefore,

2121 Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Kansas: That we recognize January
2222 30, 2025, as JAG-K Day at the Capitol; and
2323 Be it further resolved: That the Secretary of the Senate shall send an enrolled
2424 copy of this resolution to Senator Bowers.
