A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Aaron 1
"Mick" Crawford. 2
WHEREAS, Aaron "Mick" Crawford was a true hero of this Commonwealth, 3
having spent the last days of his life helping his fellow Eastern Kentuckians clean up 4
from floods that devastated their communities; and 5
WHEREAS, Mick was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on July 23, 2004, to David 6
and Ronda Griffie Crawford; and 7
WHEREAS, Mick was a junior at Knott County Central High School where he was 8
a proud member of the Knott County Central Patriots football and wrestling teams; and 9
WHEREAS, Mick, who was a member of Blair Memorial Baptist Church in Perry 10
County, was a faithful witness for Jesus; and 11
WHEREAS, Mick departed these earthly bounds on August 5, 2022, and now joins 12
his Lord and Savior in his Heavenly, eternal home; and 13
WHEREAS, Mick is survived by his parents; siblings, Andy Crawford (Angie), 14
Ginger Simmons (James), Stevie Combs, Bailey Crawford (Amy), Kyle Crawford, Austin 15
Combs (Bryan), and Rachel Crawford (Michael); maternal grandfather, Raymond Griffie 16
(Ann); and a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones; and 17
WHEREAS, Mick was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Griffie; 18
paternal grandmother, Mildred Crawford; and maternal grandmother, Gladys Griffie; 19
NOW, THEREFORE, 20
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 21
Kentucky: 22
Section 1. The Senate hereby expresses its most profound sympathy upon the 23
passing of Aaron "Mick" Crawford, and thanks him for his heroic and selfless service to 24
this Commonwealth. 25
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 26
