AN ACT establishing the official Kentucky Mental Health Flag. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
ď˘SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 2 IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
(1) As used in this section, "Kentucky Mental Health Flag" means a rectangular 5
flag consisting of four (4) concentric arcs of equal thickness, each centered 6
around the bottom left corner of the flag, the smallest arc shall be dark green, the 7
second-smallest arc shall be a medium green, the third-smallest arc shall be a 8
light green, and the largest arc shall be yellow, similar to the flag created by The 9
Pete Foundation in collaboration with over one hundred (100) organizations. 10
(2) The Kentucky Mental Health Flag shall be an emblem of the Commonwealth's 11
commitment to furthering mental health initiatives, reducing mental health 12
stigma, and supporting individuals and families affected by mental illnesses. 13
(3) The Kentucky Mental Health Flag shall be displayed on the State Capitol 14
building during the month of May either on the flagstaff, or, in inclement 15
weather, within the building. 16
