Collins was born in Johnson County, Kentucky, on June 3 26, 1929, to the late Adrian Collins and Edna B. Nunnery; and 4 WHEREAS, Dr. Adrian N. Collins proudly served his country as a member of the 5 United States Air Force; and 6 WHEREAS, Dr. Adrian N. Collins was a graduate of the University of Kentucky 7 and the University of Louisville School of Medicine; and 8 WHEREAS, Dr. Adrian N. Collins went on to own and operate his own family 9 practice in South Shore, Kentucky, in Greenup County. Dr. Collins attended to the 10 medical needs of this community for 40 years; and 11 WHEREAS, on December 1, 2018, Dr. Adrian N. Collins departed these earthly 12 bounds. At the time of his death, Dr. Adrian Collins was survived by his wife, Doris S. 13 Collins, to whom he married Dec. 4, 1953; two sons, James Adrian Collins of South 14 Shore, Kentucky, and Dr. John Greggory Collins and his wife Jayme Leigh of Raleigh, 15 North Carolina; two daughters, Fran Stevenson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Mary 16 Collins Barrey of Raleigh, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Andrew Collins, Abbey E. 17 Maxwell, Kimberly Kromer, Kara M. Collins and Nicolas Barrey; and three great-18 grandchildren, David, Daniel and Dean Collins; and 19 WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the General Assembly honor the life, 20 service, and memory of Dr. Adrian N. Collins in some tangible way; 21 NOW, THEREFORE, 22 Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 23 ď˘Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate Bridge Number 24 045B00050N on United States Highway 23 in Greenup County, as the "Dr. Adrian N. 25 Collins Memorial Bridge," and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this 26 Resolution, erect the appropriate signage. 27
