A RESOLUTION commending Kentucky REALTORS® on the 100th anniversary 1
of its founding. 2
WHEREAS, in 1922, a group of dedicated individuals from across Kentucky joined 3
together for the purpose of advancing professionalism, supporting the licensing of real 4
estate professionals, and exchanging property information; and 5
WHEREAS, in 1923, the organization received its charter from the National 6
Association of Real Estate Boards as the Kentucky Real Estate Association, now known 7
as Kentucky REALTORS®; and 8
WHEREAS, Kentucky REALTORS® is one of the largest trade associations in 9
Kentucky, with more than 12,800 members who are involved in all aspects of real estate, 10
including but not limited to residential and commercial real estate brokerage, sales, 11
development, building, property management, office management, appraisals, and 12
auctions; and 13
WHEREAS, the "Voice of Real Estate" in Kentucky, Kentucky REALTORS® 14
serves as a conduit to growth, knowledge, and professionalism for its members and the 15
real estate industry; and 16
WHEREAS, Kentucky REALTORS® serves and represents its members in 17
regulatory and legislative matters; keeps the realtor central to the real estate transaction; 18
promotes member integrity, competency, and responsible citizenship; and advocates for 19
protecting private property rights, homeownership, and equal housing opportunities; and 20
WHEREAS, as members of organized real estate, Kentucky REALTORS® 21
subscribes to the strict Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®, 22
which helps ensure the highest level of professionalism; and 23
WHEREAS, since its inception, Kentucky REALTORS® has provided services to 24
generations of members in areas of leadership, open access to properties for sale, 25
professional standards, continuing education, advocacy, industry and social events, and 26

WHEREAS, an important aspect of Kentucky REALTORS® over the years is its 1
many volunteers who have contributed time and energy to the organization and their 2
communities; to list all of the names of individuals who have made significant 3
contributions to the industry and community over the years would create volumes; and 4
WHEREAS, this body recognizes two distinguished groups of Kentucky 5
REALTORS® volunteers, the past-presidents, who dedicated at least a year from their 6
real estate practice to serve as the chief officer of the organization, and the REALTOR®-7
of-the-Year honorees, who have made significant contributions to their careers, their 8
industry, and their communities; 9
NOW, THEREFORE, 10
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 11
Commonwealth of Kentucky: 12
Section 1. The House of Representatives honors Kentucky REALTORS® on 13
this day for 100 years of service to the property owners of Kentucky and the communities 14
in which they live and serve. 15
Section 2. The members duly thank President Michael Inman, President-Elect 16
Elizabeth Monarch, Treasurer Pam Featherstone, Treasurer-Elect Barbara Curtis, Chief 17
Executive Officer Cinder Hatfield, the staff at Kentucky REALTORS®, and the entire 18
past and present membership on the association's 100th anniversary. We wish them many 19
more years of success as they begin their second century of service. 20
Section 3. The Clerk of this House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 21
copy of this Resolution to Kentucky REALTORS®, 2708 Old Rosebud Road, Suite 200, 22
Lexington, Kentucky 40509. 23
