AN ACT relating to public health. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 211 IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
(1) The Department for Aging and Independent Living shall collaborate with the 5
Department for Public Health and the Alzheimer's Association of Greater 6
Kentucky and Southern Indiana to update and incorporate into the materials the 7
Department for Aging and Independent Living publishes and distributes to the 8
public, the following information: 9
(a) To aid people's understanding and awareness of Alzheimer's disease and 10
other dementias, including links to chronic conditions such as vascular 11
disease, diabetes, and smoking; 12
(b) On early signs of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias that should be 13
discussed with healthcare professionals; and 14
(c) On steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of cognitive decline, 15
particularly among persons in communities who are at greater risk of 16
developing Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. 17
(2) The Department for Aging and Independent Living shall publish the materials 18
from subsection (1) of this section on its website and distribute the materials to all 19
sixty-one (61) local health departments in Kentucky by: 20
(a) Digital formats; 21
(b) Physical copies of campaign materials; or 22
(c) In conjunction with educational programming. 23
