AN ACT relating to local government. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
ď˘Section 1. KRS 67.170 is amended to read as follows: 3
The jailer of each county shall take charge of and carefully preserve all furniture, bedding 4
and similar property belonging to the jail and any other county property at the county seat 5
for which he or she may act as superintendent. The jailer shall be liable to the county 6
upon his or her official bond for the value of any such property lost or destroyed by 7
reason of his or her negligence or fault, and the county may enforce this liability by 8
notice and motion in the District Court. 9
