A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the Kentucky College of Art and 1
Design. 2
WHEREAS, the Kentucky College of Art and Design achieved licensure with 3
Kentucky's Council on Postsecondary Education within only one year of becoming an 4
independent college of art and design; and 5
WHEREAS, the demand for Kentucky College of Art and Design graduates is 6
proven by the success of the first cohort of graduates in achieving employment within 7
arts-related fields; and 8
WHEREAS, the Kentucky College of Art and Design meets a critical need in 9
Kentucky as the Commonwealth's only independent college of art and design offering an 10
undergraduate degree; and 11
WHEREAS, the excellence of the Kentucky College of Art and Design is proven by 12
the success of program graduates in securing postgraduate opportunities in prestigious, 13
international arts programs, including acceptances into the Royal College of Art and the 14
Goldsmiths' College in London, California Institute of the Arts, and Rutgers University, 15
and an upcoming interview at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago; and 16
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth is enriched by the incredible caliber of the 17
Kentucky College of Art and Design and its graduates and will directly benefit from the 18
future excellence and operation of the Kentucky College of Art; and Design; 19
NOW, THEREFORE, 20
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 21
Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Senate concurring therein: 22
Section 1. The General Assembly hereby recognizes the indispensable 23
contribution of the Kentucky College of Art and Design to the Commonwealth and 24
expresses support for the continued operation of the Kentucky College of Art and Design 25
as a preeminent, independent college of art and design graduating competitive, highly 26

Section 2. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 1
