A JOINT RESOLUTION authorizing the release of capital construction funds for 1
the State Fair Board. 2
WHEREAS, the General Assembly recognizes the need to secure the future of 3
Kentucky State Fair Board properties; and 4
WHEREAS, 2022 Ky. Acts ch. 199 requires the State Fair Board's comprehensive 5
statewide proposal regarding improvements to their properties be approved by the 6
General Assembly in order to release the appropriated capital construction funds; and 7
WHEREAS, the State Fair Board submitted their comprehensive statewide proposal 8
to the Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations and Revenue by the December 1, 2022, 9
deadline; 10
NOW, THEREFORE, 11
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 12
ď˘Section 1. The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky hereby 13
approves Phase 1 of the State Fair Board's comprehensive statewide proposal for 14
improving properties dated November 29, 2022, and submitted to the Interim Joint 15
Committee on Appropriations and Revenue. The Office of State Budget Director is 16
authorized to release the $180,000,000 in capital construction funds for use by the State 17
Fair Board in fiscal year 2024 as appropriated by 2022 Ky. Acts ch. 199 and amended by 18
2022 Ky. Acts ch. 239. 19
