A RESOLUTION recognizing February 2023 as Career and Technical Education 1
Month in Kentucky and February 21 and 22, 2023, as CTE Student Leadership Days. 2
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education 3
established the theme "Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow!" for Career and Technical 4
Education Month, February 2023; and 5
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education 6
commemorates Career and Technical Education Month with CTE Student Leadership 7
Days on February 21 and 22, 2023; and 8
WHEREAS, approximately 400 representatives of Kentucky's career and technical 9
education programs and their advisers are participating in CTE Student Leadership Days, 10
which consist of a formal citizenship educational program and the opportunity to tour the 11
Capitol and meet with their Representatives and Senators; and 12
WHEREAS, career and technical education student organizations provide 13
secondary and postsecondary students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills 14
and further explore possible career options, both of which enhance their ability to achieve 15
success in life and become future leaders in the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and 16
WHEREAS, Spencer County High School student and Family, Career and 17
Community Leaders of America officer Madison Upchurch represents all career and 18
technical education student organization members and career and technical education 19
students before this body today; 20
NOW, THEREFORE, 21
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 22
Commonwealth of Kentucky: 23
Section 1. The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky 24
proudly recognizes February 21 and 22, 2023, as CTE Student Leadership Days and 25
February 2023 as Career and Technical Education Month. 26

recognizes Spencer County High School student Madison Upchurch on behalf of all 1
career and technical education student organization members and career and technical 2
education students and advisers across the Commonwealth who participate in these 3
organizations for their exemplary leadership. 4
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 5
copy of this Resolution to Representative James Tipton. 6
