UNOFFICIAL COPY 23 RS SB 148/GA Page 1 of 2 SB014810.100 - 1172 - XXXX 3/10/2023 11:44 AM GA AN ACT establishing the Government Teleworking Task Force. 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2 Section 1. The Legislative Research Commission is hereby directed to establish 3 the Government Teleworking Task Force. The task force shall investigate and make 4 recommendations regarding: 5 (1) How the on-site presence of state employees can be reduced, and cost savings 6 realized, now that many workers have transitioned to different teleworking models; 7 (2) How much in-person work hours have decreased since the pandemic and 8 whether and to what extent has public service suffered due to the decrease; and 9 (3) What in-person staffing levels are necessary for state government to maintain 10 a high level of in-person customer service for citizens. 11 Section 2. (1) The task force shall be composed of the following eight 12 members with final membership of the task force being subject to the consideration and 13 approval of the Legislative Research Commission: 14 (a) Four members from the Senate, of which the President of the Senate shall 15 appoint three members from the majority party and one member from the minority party; 16 and 17 (b) Four members from the House of Representatives, of which the Speaker of 18 the House of Representatives shall appoint three members from the majority party and 19 one member from the minority party. 20 (2) The Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate 21 shall each select a co-chair of the task force from the selected members of their respective 22 chambers. 23 Section 3. The task force shall meet at least monthly during the 2023 Interim of 24 the General Assembly and shall submit its findings and recommendations to the 25 Legislative Research Commission for referral to the appropriate committee or committees 26 by December 1, 2023. 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 23 RS SB 148/GA Page 2 of 2 SB014810.100 - 1172 - XXXX 3/10/2023 11:44 AM GA Section 4. Provisions of this Bill to the contrary notwithstanding, the 1 Legislative Research Commission shall have the authority to alternatively assign the 2 issues identified herein to an interim joint committee or subcommittee thereof, and to 3 designate a study completion date. 4 Section 5. Section 1 to 4 of this Act shall have the same legal status as a Senate 5 Concurrent Resolution. 6
