AN ACT relating to chemical dependency treatment services. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
ď˘SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 222 IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
(1) Any treatment center or program licensed as a chemical dependency treatment 5
service pursuant to KRS 216B.042 or this chapter shall provide transportation 6
services or access to transportation services to residents who wish to voluntarily 7
leave the treatment program. 8
(2) Transportation services or access to transportation services shall include: 9
(a) Calling a resident's family member, guardian, or emergency contact, to 10
inform them the resident is voluntarily leaving; 11
(b) Providing access to a ride-sharing service and notify the resident of the cost 12
of the ride-sharing service; or 13
(c) Providing access to public transportation, including but not limited to, 14
providing a pamphlet with information on public transportation options 15
within a two (2) mile radius. 16
