UNOFFICIAL COPY 23 RS BR 1774 Page 1 of 1 XXXX 2/27/2023 11:18 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Reverend 1 Charles Hal Shipley. 2 WHEREAS, Reverend Shipley was born on November 16, 1934, in Murray, 3 Kentucky, to Eugene Daniel Shipley and Myrtleene Cunningham Shipley. He was a 4 lifelong resident of Calloway County; and 5 WHEREAS, in 1955, Reverend Shipley married the love of his life, Nora Jean Ezell 6 Shipley. That same year he started his ministry, and for the next 67 years he would 7 continue to preach and minister the word of God to others. Reverend Shipley was a 8 member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church; and 9 WHEREAS, Reverend Shipley died on January 23, 2023, and was preceded in 10 death by his parents; wife; daughter, Crista Lynn Shipley; and brother, Eugene Daniel 11 Shipley, Jr.; and 12 WHEREAS, Reverend Shipley is survived by his daughter, Karen (Tim) Langford; 13 son, Kenneth (Martha) Shipley; six grandchildren, Emily (Derek) Reidford, Ellen 14 (Graham) Donaldson, Sarah (Caleb) Utley, Andrea (Allen) Marsh, Mary Evelyn (Clay) 15 Goodman, Amy (Grant) Cox; and eight great-grandchildren, Elijah and Isaac Reidford, 16 Rosy, Lucy, and Clara Goodman, and Cierra, Davida, and Austin Marsh; 17 NOW, THEREFORE, 18 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 19 Kentucky: 20 Section 1. The Senate hereby extends its most profound sympathy upon the 21 passing of Reverend Charles Hal Shipley and expresses heartfelt condolences to his 22 family in this time of loss. 23 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 24 memory of Reverend Charles Hal Shipley. 25 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this 26 Resolution to Senator Jason Howell for delivery to the family. 27
