A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Dr. Harry 1
Ewing Altman. 2
WHEREAS, Dr. Harry Ewing Altman was born on March 19, 1938, in Ellwood 3
City, Pennsylvania, as the eldest son of Harry Martin Altman and Lucy Elizabeth Ewing 4
Altman; and 5
WHEREAS, Dr. Harry Ewing Altman was a retired obstetrician and gynecological 6
surgeon who provided medical care to the women of Eastern Kentucky; and 7
WHEREAS, Dr. Harry Ewing Altman was a member of the Saint Francis of Assisi 8
Catholic Church. As an esteemed member of the congregation, Dr. Altman organized and 9
hosted an annual charity golf tournament to benefit the Saint Francis of Assisi School; 10
and 11
WHEREAS, Dr. Harry Ewing Altman served the United States of America as a 12
veteran of the United States Army National Guard; and 13
WHEREAS, Dr. Harry Ewing Altman was an influential member of his community 14
and served as chairman of the Board of Pinnacle Bank in Pikeville; and 15
WHEREAS, Dr. Harry Ewing Altman died on January 4, 2023, at the Pikeville 16
Medical Center. Dr. Altman was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John 17
Altman and Jim Altman; and 18
WHEREAS, Dr. Harry Ewing Altman is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Lowe 19
Altman; his sons, Harry Christopher (Susie) Altman and Jim (Julie) Altman; his daughter, 20
Ashley (David) Altman Crossett; his brothers, Gerry (Sadie) Altman and Bill (Lulu) 21
Altman; his self-proclaimed brother, Dr. Oon (Dorothy) Leedhanachoke; his 22
grandchildren, Harry Ryan (Blair) Altman, Elizabeth (Daniel) Altman Harmon, James 23
Turner (Victoria) Altman, Emily Ann Altman, Andrew Ked Crossett, Luke David 24
Crossett, and Marigrace Elizabeth Crossett; his great-grandchildren, Ashton Scot 25
Harding, Lucy Blake Altman, Walker Vonn Harmon, and Lane Harrison Harmon; and his 26
nieces and nephews, including Tracy Lowe, Steve Spurlock, Rachel Baker, Andy 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 23 RS BR 1855

NOW, THEREFORE, 3
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4
Kentucky: 5
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby extend their most profound 6
sympathy upon the passing of Dr. Harry Ewing Altman, and posthumously thank him for 7
his contributions to women's medical care within Eastern Kentucky. 8
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 9
memory of Dr. Harry Ewing Altman. 10
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 11
Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 12
