UNOFFICIAL COPY 23 RS BR 1854 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 3/29/2023 1:36 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Dr. 1 Harvey Allsbrook Page. 2 WHEREAS, Dr. Harvey Allsbrook Page was born in North Carolina on October 3, 3 1927, to Harvey Lee and Clara Allsbrook Page; and 4 WHEREAS, Dr. Page spent his life serving his country and his community as a 5 veteran of the United States Army, a devoted member of the Pikeville United Methodist 6 Church, and a physician; and 7 WHEREAS, Dr. Page was known to his community as a wonderful person, 8 physician, friend, and neighbor. He was known as one of the best southern and country 9 doctors by members of the community, combining honesty, kindness, and common sense 10 when treating his patients and providing sound medical advice; and 11 WHEREAS, a model physician, Dr. Page had the ability to put his patients at ease 12 when treating them. He knew how to combine both medical and human care. In the 13 words of one of his patients, "you never felt like you were going to the doctor...I was 14 going to chat with a friend"; and 15 WHEREAS, as a mentor to others, Dr. Page would counsel and encourage those 16 who sought to enter the medical profession and would attend the medical school 17 ceremonies of his mentees; and 18 WHEREAS, Dr. Page left this earth on March 15, 2023, survived by his son, John 19 Brooks Page; daughter, Deborah Osborne Page; sister, Ann Braswell;, four 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and 21 WHEREAS, Dr. Page will be remembered for his kindness, gentleness, wisdom, 22 and love and devotion to his family and community. He was a perfect gentleman, a 23 perfect example of what a medical professional should be, and a true icon of his 24 community; 25 NOW, THEREFORE, 26 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 23 RS BR 1854 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 3/29/2023 1:36 PM Jacketed Kentucky: 1 Section 1. The Senate hereby extends its most profound sympathy upon the 2 passing of Dr. Harvey Allsbrook Page and expresses heartfelt condolences to his family 3 in this time of loss. 4 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 5 memory of Dr. Harvey Allsbrook Page. 6 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this 7 Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 8
