A JOINT RESOLUTION directing the Transportation Cabinet to include JoJo Hall 1
and Teddi Leigh Cyrus as JoLeigh on the Country Music Highway in Floyd County. 2
WHEREAS, JoJo Hall and Teddi Leigh Cyrus were born to Johnny and Peggy 3
Shannon Pack of Drift, Floyd County, Kentucky; and 4
WHEREAS, Teddi Leigh Cyrus was chosen in 1991 to join the Kentucky Opry Jr. 5
Pros at the age of 13, and JoJo Hall was chosen in 1997 to do so at the age of 16, and was 6
later promoted to the Kentucky Opry in 2000; and 7
WHEREAS, JoJo Hall and Teddi Leigh Cyrus have performed under the stage 8
name of JoLeigh, a combination of their middle names, for over a decade; and 9
WHEREAS, in 2012, JoLeigh competed, and subsequently placed third, in the 10
Country Music Highway Road to Fame competition hosted at the Mountain Arts Center 11
in Prestonsburg; and 12
WHEREAS, JoLeigh was first invited back to the Kentucky Opry in 2016 to 13
perform as special guests in Prestonsburg, and has since performed at the Opry several 14
times; and 15
WHEREAS, in December 2022, while on stage at the Kentucky Opry, JoLeigh was 16
surprised with a video notifying them of a record deal offer from Bonfire Records; and 17
WHEREAS, while performing professionally under the stage name JoLeigh, JoJo 18
Hall and Teddi Leigh Cyrus have demonstrated immense talent and their quickly 19
blossoming career is a testament to their dedication to their craft and is worthy to be 20
recognized by including their stage name on the Country Music Highway in Floyd 21
County; 22
NOW, THEREFORE, 23
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 24
ď˘Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall honor the accomplishments of 25
"JoJo Hall and Teddi Leigh Cyrus as JoLeigh" by inclusion on the Country Music 26
Highway on United States Route 23 in Floyd County, and shall, within 30 days of the 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 1754

effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signage denoting this designation. 1
