A RESOLUTION proclaiming April 28, 2024, as Workers Memorial Day. 1
WHEREAS, millions of Americans get up and go to work every day to provide for 2
their families and build their communities; and 3
WHEREAS, many hard-working Americans are exposed to unsafe working 4
conditions and have been injured, contracted illnesses, or even killed on the job; and 5
WHEREAS, millions of firefighters, police officers, and other first responders put 6
their lives on the line as a matter of course to keep the rest of us safe; and 7
WHEREAS, Workers Memorial Day is a time to reflect on American workers who 8
have sacrificed their own lives and well-being to make our world a safer place; 9
NOW, THEREFORE, 10
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 11
Commonwealth of Kentucky: 12
ď˘Section 1. The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky 13
hereby proclaims April 28, 2024 as Workers Memorial Day, and asks all other 14
Kentuckians to salute and honor all those Americans who have been injured, contracted 15
illnesses, or lost their lives while on the job. 16
