A RESOLUTION honoring the members of the Kentucky National Guard for their 1 
outstanding service assisting to secure the southwest border of the United States. 2 
WHEREAS, the Kentucky National Guard, having roots as far back as 1775 when 3 
it protected the citizenry as the militia, was reformed and modernized under the Militia 4 
Act of 1903, allowing the creation of the Kentucky National Guard as iterated today; and 5 
WHEREAS, the Kentucky National Guard has seen historic service in many areas 6 
and countries, including assisting victims of the Great Flood of 1937; serving in the 7 
Philippine Islands, North Africa, France, and Germany in World War II; serving in the 8 
Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict; assisting citizens in the grave aftermath of the 9 
massive outbreak of tornadoes in 1974; serving in the Persian Gulf War, Operation 10 
Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble 11 
Eagle, and Operation Iraqi Freedom; as well as numerous peacekeeping missions both 12 
domestic and abroad; and 13 
WHEREAS, since 2020, more than 849 members from the HSC 149th Maneuverer 14 
Enhancement Brigade, C. Company, 1-376 Aviation, 2112th Transportation Company, 15 
149th Engineer Company, 130th Engineer Support Company, Headquarters and 16 
Headquarters Detachment, 198th Military Police Battalion, 617th Military Police 17 
Company of the Kentucky National Guard have been deployed to provide support for 18 
civilian law enforcement agencies and United States Customs and Border Protection 19 
personnel along the southwest border of the United States; and 20 
WHEREAS, each of these units has played a valuable and critical role in ensuring 21 
the integrity of the borders of the United States of America and the safety of the 22 
American people, and each member of these units has done so with the utmost integrity 23 
and professionalism; 24 
NOW, THEREFORE, 25 
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 26

Section 1.   The House of Representatives does hereby commend the members of 1 
the HSC 149th Maneuverer Enhancement Brigade, C. Company, 1-376 Aviation, 2112th 2 
Transportation Company, 149th Engineer Company, 130th Engineer Support Company, 3 
Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 198th Military Police Battalion, 617th 4 
Military Police Company on their outstanding service to the citizens of not only the 5 
Commonwealth of Kentucky, but to the entirety of the United States of America. Their 6 
sterling service not only on the southwest border of the United States, but in all other 7 
areas, is worthy of admiration and praise. 8 
Section 2.   The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 9 
copy of this Resolution to Representative Cherlynn Stevenson for presentation to Major 10 
General Hal Lamberton, Adjutant General, Kentucky. 11
