AN ACT relating to forcible detainer actions. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
ď˘SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 383 IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
(1) For purposes of this section: 5
(a) "Business" means an entity having three (3) or fewer shareholders, 6
members, partners, trustees, or owners, including a nonprofit corporation, S 7
corporation, limited liability company, general or limited partnership, 8
limited liability partnership, limited liability limited partnership, limited 9
cooperative association, business trust, or sole proprietorship; and 10
(b) "Landlord" means an individual or business that is the owner of a 11
residential rental property. 12
(2) In addition to an attorney, a forcible detainer action may be filed and practiced 13
against a tenant by the landlord of the property. For purposes of this section, the 14
landlord shall be considered a pro se litigant. 15
