AN ACT relating to healthcare. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
ď˘Section 1. KRS 211.430 is amended to read as follows: 3
(1) To be eligible for a scholarship made available under KRS 211.405 to 211.460, an 4
applicant must: 5
(a) Have been a resident of this Commonwealth for not less than five (5) years 6
immediately preceding the date of application; 7
(b) Be acceptable for enrollment in a dental school accredited by the Council on 8
Dental Education of the American Dental Association, and approved by the 9
board; and 10
(c) Furnish satisfactory evidence to the board that he or she does not have 11
sufficient financial resources to enable him or her to study dentistry without 12
assistance. 13
(2) Before a scholarship is granted, the applicant shall contract in writing with the 14
board, that he or she will, within six (6) months from the date he or she completes 15
his term of study, engage in the practice of dentistry in a locality or localities within 16
this Commonwealth to be designated by the Dental Health Program of the Cabinet 17
for Health and Family Services, at the rate of one (1) year for each annual 18
scholarship received, or proportional time for partial scholarships. 19
