AN ACT relating to local landlord and tenant ordinances. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 383 IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
A city, county, charter county government, urban-county government, consolidated 5
local government, or unified local government shall not adopt or enforce an ordinance 6
or regulation that requires or would have the effect of requiring a landlord to 7
participate in a housing program under Section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 8
1937, 42 U.S.C. sec. 1437f, as amended. 9
SECTION 2. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 383 IS CREATED TO 10
READ AS FOLLOWS: 11
A city, county, charter county government, urban-county government, consolidated 12
local government, or unified local government shall not adopt or enforce any 13
ordinance relating to landlord or tenant laws that is in conflict with any law of this 14
Commonwealth. 15
