AN ACT relating to the establishment of the Medicaid Oversight and Advisory 1
Committee. 2
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 3
ď˘SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 6 IS CREATED TO 4
READ AS FOLLOWS: 5
(1) There is hereby established a Medicaid Oversight and Advisory Committee, 6
consisting of ten (10) members appointed as follows: 7
(a) Four (4) members of the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate; 8
(b) One (1) member of the Senate appointed by the Minority Floor Leader of 9
the Senate; 10
(c) Four (4) members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker 11
of the House of Representatives; and 12
(d) One (1) member of the House of Representatives appointed by the Minority 13
Floor Leader of the House of Representatives. 14
(2) Members appointed from each chamber shall elect one (1) member from their 15
chamber to serve as co-chair. The co-chairs shall have joint responsibilities for 16
committee meeting agendas and presiding at committee meetings. 17
(3) The committee shall meet at least four (4) times per calendar year and shall 18
provide oversight on the implementation of Medicaid within the Commonwealth, 19
including access to services, utilization of services, quality of services, and cost 20
containment. 21
(4) A majority of the entire membership of the Medicaid Oversight and Advisory 22
Committee shall constitute a quorum, and all actions of the committee shall be by 23
vote of a majority of its entire membership. 24
