A RESOLUTION honoring Ohio Valley Wrestling and celebrating the success of 1
the television documentary "Wrestlers." 2
WHEREAS, based at the historic Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio Valley 3
Wrestling (OVW) has long been a cornerstone of professional wrestling, fostering talent 4
and providing a platform for both proven and aspiring wrestlers to showcase their skill; 5
and 6
WHEREAS, under the wrestling leadership of Al Snow, OVW has consistently 7
maintained a commitment to excellence, promoting sportsmanship, athleticism, and 8
entertainment in the world of professional wrestling; and 9
WHEREAS, the Netflix documentary series "Wrestlers" has shed light on the 10
dedication, passion, and sacrifices made by professional wrestlers and supporting staff 11
and offered an international audience an intimate glimpse into their lives, both inside and 12
outside the ring; and 13
WHEREAS, "Wrestlers" has captured the essence of the wrestling industry and 14
highlighted the resilience of its performers and the profound impact the sport has on the 15
lives of both the wrestlers and their fans; and 16
WHEREAS, the success of "Wrestlers" has brought deserved attention to OVW and 17
its contributions to the wrestling community and further solidified its legacy in the annals 18
of sports entertainment and earning accolades from Variety, TIME Magazine, and The 19
New York Times; and 20
WHEREAS, the success of Ohio Valley Wrestling and the incredible popularity of 21
"Wrestlers" is a cause for celebration across the Commonwealth; 22
NOW, THEREFORE, 23
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 24
Kentucky: 25
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby join Senator David Yates in 26
honoring Ohio Valley Wrestling for its dedication to the sport of professional wrestling, 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2021

its role in shaping the careers of countless wrestlers, and the spectacle it provides the 1
Commonwealth of Kentucky, and recognizing OVW for producing a larger-than-life 2
spectacle with a decidedly Kentucky flavor that has become popular with fans 3
worldwide. 4
Section 2. The members of the Senate commend the filmmakers and all those 5
involved in the production of "Wrestlers" for their riveting portrayal of the wrestling 6
industry, their efforts to highlight the stories of its participants, and the profound impact 7
of the show in promoting interest and appreciation for the artistry and athleticism of 8
professional wrestling. 9
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit copies of this Resolution to 10
Senator David Yates for presentation to Ohio Valley Wrestling and the creators of 11
"Wrestlers." 12
