A RESOLUTION honoring W. Michael "Mike" and Beverly Yount on the occasion 1
of their 50th wedding anniversary. 2
WHEREAS, Mike and Beverly Yount were married on February 21, 1974; and 3
WHEREAS, their union yielded three children, Erin (Ryan) McDowell and twins 4
Nicole (Tim) Davis and Nicholas (Jackie) Yount; and seven grandchildren, Jace 5
McDowell, Maggie McDowell, Grayson McDowell, Lilliaunna Davis, Nicholas Davis, 6
Noah Yount, and Emma Yount; and 7
WHEREAS, Mike Yount is now serving in his 11th year as a doorman for the 8
Senate; and 9
WHEREAS, prior to his service to the Senate, Mike Yount had a business, 10
Bluegrass U.S.T., where he helped to build gas stations and clean up hazardous materials; 11
and 12
WHEREAS, Beverly Yount retired from the Kentucky Department of Revenue 13
after 35 years of service; and 14
WHEREAS, Beverly Yount suffered a stroke in 2013, to which doctors feared she 15
would succumb, but she made a miraculous recovery; and 16
WHEREAS, less than six percent of all married couples surpass 50 years of 17
marriage; and 18
WHEREAS, on February 21, 2024, Mike and Beverly are celebrating 50 wonderful 19
years of loving marriage; 20
NOW, THEREFORE, 21
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 22
Kentucky: 23
Section 1. The Senate hereby honors and congratulates W. Michael "Mike" and 24
Beverly Yount on the momentous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary, and 25
wishes them many more years of love and happiness in their union. 26
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2094
