UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 253 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 8/8/2023 8:20 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Mary 1 "Sue" Butler. 2 WHEREAS, Mary "Sue" Butler arrived in this world on November 20, 1944, the 3 third of six children born to Alice Kroger Lutz and Edward Lutz in Fort Thomas, 4 Kentucky; and 5 WHEREAS, Sue Butler was married for 55 years to her beloved husband, William 6 "Bill" P. Butler, and they raised two children, Kevin (Whitney) Butler and Christa Butler 7 (Anthony Papadopoulos); and 8 WHEREAS, Sue and Bill Butler established the Butler Foundation and the Life 9 Learning Center, supporting education in their Northern Kentucky community by 10 providing pathways to success for those in need; and 11 WHEREAS, Sue Butler was a founding board member of Northern Kentucky 12 Harvest and served on the boards of The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center of 13 Covington, Kentucky, and the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens; and 14 WHEREAS, Sue Butler also volunteered for the St. Elizabeth Medical Center 15 Foundation, where she helped to raise funds for a much-needed inpatient Hospice Center 16 in Northern Kentucky; and 17 WHEREAS, Sue Butler was a faithful member of both Mother of God Church in 18 Covington, Kentucky, and Holy Spirit Parish in Newport, Kentucky; and 19 WHEREAS, Sue Butler took great joy and care in creating personalized needlepoint 20 art for those she loved, and most enjoyed making fun memories with her family and 21 friends; and 22 WHEREAS, Sue Butler cherished her four grandchildren, and she will be dearly 23 missed by all her extended family and a host of close friends; 24 NOW, THEREFORE, 25 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 26 Kentucky: 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 253 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 8/8/2023 8:20 AM Jacketed Section 1. The Senate extends its deepest sympathy upon the passing of Mary 1 "Sue" Butler, and expresses heartfelt condolences to all her family, friends, and 2 community. 3 Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 6 Resolution to Senator John Schickel for delivery to the family. 7
