A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring Lesley Gilpin as Kentucky's first 1 
National Board-Certified school social worker.  2 
WHEREAS, a graduate of Western Kentucky University and the University of 3 
Kentucky, Lesley Gilpin has obtained both a bachelor degree and a master of social work 4 
degree; and 5 
WHEREAS, Lesley Gilpin became a licensed clinical social worker in 2021 and is 6 
an active member of the board of officers for the Kentucky Association for School Social 7 
Work; and  8 
WHEREAS, for 24 years Lesley Gilpin has worked as a certified school social 9 
worker and became the first National Board-Certified school social worker in Kentucky; 10 
and  11 
WHEREAS, currently working at The Providence School in Jessamine County, 12 
Lesley Gilpin is passionate about demonstrating a growth mindset to her students and 13 
being an advocate for expanding the reach of mental health services within schools; and 14 
WHEREAS, Lesley Gilpin is particularly interested in topics such as alternative 15 
education, grief, trauma, educator self-care, and issues facing LGBTQ+ youth;  16 
NOW, THEREFORE, 17 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 18 
Kentucky: 19 
Section 1. The Senate hereby recognizes and honors Lesley Gilpin for her 20 
continued service and support for youth and congratulates her on being the first National 21 
Board-Certified school social worker in Kentucky. 22 
Section 2.   The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy this Resolution 23 
to Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe for delivery. 24
