A RESOLUTION honoring the Calvary Christian School on the occasion of its 50th 1
anniversary. 2
WHEREAS, Calvary Christian School began as a ministry of Calvary Baptist 3
Church in Latonia, Kenton County, Kentucky, in November 1973; and 4
WHEREAS, on August 26, 1974, 63 students in grades one through four entered 5
Calvary Christian School for their first day, and one week later, 35 kindergarten children 6
joined grades one through four; and 7
WHEREAS, shortly after the establishment of the school, Calvary Christian School 8
secured 65 acres of land five miles south of Latonia on Taylor Mill Road. 9
Groundbreaking for its beautifully designed facility took place on July 7, 1974. The two 10
phases of the building program were completed in 2010; and 11
WHEREAS, the vision of Calvary Christian School is that students will use their 12
minds and hands to actively serve and glorify God with their whole life, wherever His 13
will leads them; and 14
WHEREAS, Calvary Christian School emphasizes a Christ-centered education 15
which continually views areas of knowledge through the perspective of God's Word, 16
magnifies the Lord Jesus, and leads children into conformity with His image; and 17
WHEREAS, Calvary Christian School currently serves over 300 students; and 18
WHEREAS, Calvary Christian School seeks to foster spiritual, academic, physical, 19
and social stewardship and growth; and 20
WHEREAS, students of Calvary Christian School have furthered the success of the 21
Commonwealth as athletes, artists, scholars, and engaged citizens; and 22
WHEREAS, over the past 50 years, Calvary Christian School has fulfilled its 23
mission statement by "equipping the next generation to impact the world for Christ"; 24
NOW, THEREFORE, 25
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 26

Section 1. The Senate hereby recognizes and celebrates the 50th anniversary of 1
the Calvary Christian School and honors its rich history and legacy. 2
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 3
Resolution to Senator Christian McDaniel. 4
