A RESOLUTION honoring and recognizing Dr. Donna Hedgepath. 1
WHEREAS, Dr. Donna Rice Hedgepath is a graduate of Fulton County High 2
school. She received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from 3
Campbellsville College, a Master of Music in Music Education degree from 4
Campbellsville University, and Ph.D. in Music Education at the University of Kentucky; 5
and 6
WHEREAS, Dr. Hedgepath taught choral music and arts and humanities at Marion 7
County High School and Lebanon Middle School in Marion County, Kentucky; and 8
WHEREAS, following her years in Kentucky public schools, Dr. Hedgepath joined 9
the faculty of Campbellsville University and taught in the School of Music and School of 10
Education. She later became an Associate Dean, NCATE/CAEP Coordinator, 11
Undergraduate Chair, and Dean of the School of Education at Campbellsville University. 12
She currently serves as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at 13
Campbellsville University; and 14
WHEREAS, Dr. Hedgepath earned numerous recognitions for teaching, including 15
Kentucky Music Educators Association College/University Teacher of the Year and 16
Campbellsville University's Non-Tenured Faculty Award; and 17
WHEREAS, over the past seven years, Dr. Hedgepath has led Campbellsville 18
University through unprecedented growth. Numerous new academic and technical 19
programs have been initiated, including an increase the introduction to three new doctoral 20
programs: PhD in Management, Doctor of Business Administration, and Doctor of 21
Chiropractic, which led to an increase in SACSCOC accreditation level; and 22
WHEREAS, Dr. Hedgepath desires to create bridges for a more effective learning 23
environment for all students and has been deeply committed to Campbellsville 24
University's mission to develop servant leaders; and 25
WHEREAS, Dr. Hedgepath serves on the Education Professional Standards Board 26
and held the position of chair from 2019 to 2020; and 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2496

WHEREAS, Dr. Hedgepath is married to Wesley "Pete" Hedgepath, has three sons, 1
and is the proud "granny" of three granddaughters; 2
NOW, THEREFORE, 3
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4
Kentucky: 5
Section 1. The Senate does hereby honor and recognize Dr. Donna Hedgepath 6
for her career and commitment to furthering education at Campbellsville University and 7
throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 8
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 9
Resolution to Senator Jason Howell. 10
