A RESOLUTION honoring Deborah Ruth Wilson on the occasion of her 50th 1
birthday. 2
WHEREAS, Deborah Ruth Wilson was born on April 3, 1974, in Winston-Salem, 3
North Carolina, the first-born child of Joe and Karen Wilson. She has two younger 4
brothers, Stephen and Jonathan Wilson; and 5
WHEREAS, while Deborah Ruth Wilson was born with the genetic disorder of 6
Down syndrome, and she and her family have faced any challenges presented by the 7
disorder with courage and grace; and 8
WHEREAS, Deborah Ruth Wilson has been a great blessing and encouragement to 9
not only her family, but her impact extends to her church, Grace Reformed Baptist 10
Church in Owensboro, Kentucky, where her father, Joe Wilson, serves as one of the 11
pastors; and 12
WHEREAS, while her mother served as the preschool teacher at Heritage Christian 13
School, Deborah Ruth Wilson assisted her with the duties in the classroom, and later 14
volunteered to help with various duties in the office, for which the office staff of Heritage 15
Christian School were extremely grateful. Deborah has provided constant affirmation and 16
support to the faculty, staff, and students, past and present, of Heritage Christian School; 17
and 18
WHEREAS, Deborah Ruth Wilson publicly professed her faith in her Lord and 19
Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized, she has been a faithful reader of her Bible, she has 20
been known on several occasions to give a critique of sermons, and she enjoys singing 21
the old hymns; and 22
WHEREAS, Deborah Ruth Wilson is a long time enthusiastic fan of the Kentucky 23
Wesleyan women’s basketball team, the Heritage Christian School girls’ and boys’ 24
basketball teams, and the former Heritage Baptist Church softball team; and 25
WHEREAS, Deborah Ruth Wilson has enriched the lives of all who have had the 26

WHEREAS, on the occasion of her 50th birthday, Deborah Ruth Wilson is 1
recognized as an outstanding and beloved citizen of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; 2
NOW, THEREFORE, 3
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4
Kentucky: 5
Section 1. The Senate celebrates and honors the benevolent and wholehearted 6
impact made by Deborah Ruth Wilson throughout her church and community, and 7
celebrates her 50th birthday. 8
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this 9
Resolution to Senator Gary Boswell for delivery. 10
