A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Robert 1 
Willis Lindsey. 2 
WHEREAS, Robert Lindsey was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on February 3, 1964, 3 
to the late Will Lindsey and Nancy May Lindsey Brandt; and 4 
WHEREAS, Robert Lindsey served as a Pikeville fire fighter and instructor, and as 5 
an instructor for State Fire and Rescue Training Service; and 6 
WHEREAS, Robert Lindsey was an exemplary and consummate public servant 7 
who worked to improve the lives of his fellow citizens and keep them safe; and 8 
WHEREAS, Robert Lindsey was also a member of the Thomas C. Cecil Lodge, the 9 
El Hasa Shrine, and the Covington Scottish Rites; and 10 
WHEREAS, Robert Lindsey passed from this life to the next, at the age of 60, on 11 
March 26, 2024, at the Pikeville Medical Center; and 12 
WHEREAS, in addition to his parents, Robert Lindsey was preceded in death by his 13 
two sisters, Gina Leopold and Paget Ann McCoy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 14 
39 years, Kimberly Sturgill Lindsey; son, Robert (Holly) Lindsey; daughter, Beka 15 
Danielle Lindsey; step-mother, Karen Kinnard Lindsey; brother, Will Lindsey; and his 16 
sister, Kari  (Darren) Messer; and 17 
WHEREAS, Robert Lindsey leaves behind a legacy of public service, love for his 18 
family, and dedication to his community; 19 
NOW, THEREFORE, 20 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 21 
Kentucky: 22 
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby extend their most profound 23 
sympathy upon the passing of Robert Willis Lindsey, and posthumously thank him for his 24 
contributions and commitment to protecting the lives of his fellow Kentuckians. 25 
Section 2.   When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 26
