A RESOLUTION confirming the appointment of Cynthia Jean Nichols to the 1
Western Kentucky University Board of Regents. 2
WHEREAS, on July 10, 2023, in accordance with KRS 164.321 and by virtue of 3
Executive Order 2023-373, Governor Andy Beshear appointed Cynthia Jean Nichols to 4
the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents to replace George Nichols for a term 5
expiring July 9, 2029; and 6
WHEREAS, the appointment is subject to Senate confirmation; and 7
WHEREAS, Cynthia Jean Nichols has been determined to meet the requirements of 8
KRS 164.321; 9
NOW, THEREFORE, 10
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 11
Kentucky: 12
Section 1. The Senate hereby confirms the appointment of Cynthia Jean Nichols 13
to the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents. 14
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate shall forward a copy of this Resolution and 15
notification of its adoption to Cynthia Jean Nichols of Haverford, Delaware County, 16
Pennsylvania, and to Governor Andy Beshear, State Capitol, Room 100, Frankfort, 17
Kentucky 40601. 18
