UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 904 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 10/26/2023 12:22 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Dorothy 1 Jean "Dottie" Sims. 2 WHEREAS, Dorothy Jean "Dottie" Sims, of Horse Cave, Kentucky, was born on 3 April 6, 1949, to Paul G. and Eugenia Ann London in Hiseville, Kentucky; and 4 WHEREAS, Dottie Sims worked 30 years in tax preparation and consulting and 5 was the proud owner/operator of the small business Sims Bookkeeping and Tax Service; 6 and 7 WHEREAS, Dottie Sims was a dedicated community member who served as a 8 member of the Caverna School Board, and then as a member of the Kentucky House of 9 Representatives for 12 years, during which time she proudly represented the citizens of 10 District 19 by working tirelessly to transform the communities of Hart, Larue, and 11 Edmonson Counties; and 12 WHEREAS, Dottie Sims was a member of Green’s Chapel Church of Christ. In her 13 spare time, she enjoyed reading books, spending time with family, and soaking up the sun 14 by the pool; and 15 WHEREAS, Dottie Sims passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 74. She 16 was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth G. London; and niece, Kenneitha 17 Jeanee London; and 18 WHEREAS, Dottie Sims is survived by her husband of 52 years, Louis C. Sims; 19 sons, Andrew Louis (Tracy) Sims and Matthew Paul (Amanda) Sims; grandsons, 20 Johnathan Sims and Henry Sims; granddaughters, Anna Sims and Katie Sims; sister, Sue 21 Gardner; cousin, Lynda Coleman; niece, Cheryl London Fish; and niece and caregiver, 22 Mariah (Josh) Lee, and her children Kayson, Kennah, and Mila; 23 NOW, THEREFORE, 24 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 25 Kentucky: 26 Section 1.
