A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of David Fon 1 
Childers. 2 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers was a beloved and vital resident of Elkhorn City, 3 
Kentucky; and 4 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers was a successful businessman, owning and 5 
operating Choo Choo Transport; and 6 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers served his Lord and Savior as a member of Ford's 7 
Branch Church of Christ; and 8 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers was the loving and beloved son of Aileen Slone 9 
Childers and the late Fon Childers; and 10 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers was the loving and beloved husband of Betty 11 
Kiser Childers and doting father of his daughters, Suzanne (Zeth) Sifers and Rachel 12 
(Ricky) Hamilton; and his step children, Jondra (Creg) Johnson and Douglas (Dawn) 13 
Compton; and 14 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers delighted in his grandchildren, Tanner, Alexis, 15 
Chase, Arwyn, Emma, and Ella; and 16 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers was the loving and beloved brother to the late 17 
Linda Gail Compton; and 18 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers was a fixture in his community, with an easy 19 
smile, great work ethic, and devotion to others; and 20 
WHEREAS, David Fon Childers departed this earthly life to be with his Lord and 21 
Savior on March 23, 2024; 22 
NOW, THEREFORE, 23 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 24 
Kentucky: 25 
Section 1.   The Senate does hereby express its most profound sympathy to the 26

Section 2.   When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 1
