UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2534 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 4/8/2024 11:29 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Judge 1 Reed Delano Anderson. 2 WHEREAS, Judge Reed Anderson was born in Pike County, Kentucky, on January 3 12, 1935, to the late Herb and Sadie Little Anderson; and 4 WHEREAS, Judge Reed Anderson was a graduate of Pikeville High School and 5 obtained his law degree through studies at Pikeville College Academy, the University of 6 Kentucky, Centre College, and the Cumberland School of Law; and 7 WHEREAS, Judge Reed Anderson was a former assistant Pike County Attorney, 8 and a law partner with Harris and Anderson Law Office; and 9 WHEREAS, Judge Reed Anderson proudly served with honor and integrity as a 10 District and Circuit Judge in Pike County; and 11 WHEREAS, Judge Reed Anderson departed this life on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, and 12 was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Wood; sisters, Ruth Shannon, Lois Deskins, and 13 Iris Havens; and brothers, Edgar Anderson, Herb Anderson Jr., and Orin Anderson; and 14 WHEREAS, Judge Reed Anderson is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Anderson; 15 daughter, Debra Gillam; sons, Jeff (Ann) Anderson and Nathan (Kim) Anderson; his 16 adoring grandchildren; and a host of special nieces and nephews; and 17 WHEREAS, Judge Reed Anderson's life of service left an indelible mark on his 18 community and beyond, and he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew 19 and treasured him; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, 21 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 22 Kentucky: 23 Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its most profound sympathy upon 24 the passing of Judge Reed Delano Anderson, and extends heartfelt condolences to his 25 family. 26 Section 2.
