UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2526 Page 1 of 1 XXXX 4/10/2024 1:09 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Donna 1 Mortensen Batten. 2 WHEREAS, Donna Mortensen Batten was born on July 12, 1930, in Council 3 Bluffs, Iowa; and 4 WHEREAS, Donna Batten was married to Don Batten and the couple made their 5 home in Pikeville, Kentucky; and 6 WHEREAS, Donna Batten was a homemaker, taking pride in supporting her 7 husband, raising their sons, and adoring their grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and 8 WHEREAS, Donna Batten loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of 9 Pikeville United Methodist Church; and 10 WHEREAS, Donna Batten passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 93. She 11 was preceded in death by her husband, Don Batten; parents, Roy Mortensen and Esther 12 Clingman Mortensen; and grandchild, Jessica Batten; and 13 WHEREAS, Donna Batten is survived by her brother, Roy "Mort" (Carolyn) 14 Mortensen; sister-in-law, Nancy "Tucker" Batten; sons, Bruce (Dana) Batten and Mark 15 Batten; grandchildren, Clark (Katie) Batten, Noah (Mollie) Batten, and Seth (Quinn) 16 Batten; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Batten, Amelia Batten, Colin Batten, Caleb 17 Batten, Austin Batten, Emily Hall, and Jake Hall; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, 19 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 20 Kentucky: 21 Section 1. The members of the Senate do hereby express their most profound 22 sympathy upon the passing of Donna Mortensen Batten. 23 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 24 memory of Donna Mortensen Batten. 25 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 26 Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 27
