"Frank" Burch was a son of the Commonwealth, residing 3 in Paducah, born to the late Joseph and Margaret Burch; and 4 WHEREAS, Frank Burch was a proud member of the United States Air Force, 5 serving from 1959 to 1963. It is fitting and proper to laud a citizen of this Commonwealth 6 when that citizen takes action to preserve the liberties and security of other citizens, 7 especially when that service potentially imperils his or her own life, such as through 8 military service; and 9 WHEREAS, Frank Burch's service was not only to the citizens of the 10 Commonwealth, but was also to God, through his convictions of faith and attendance of 11 St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He continued his explorations of faith through 12 membership in Cursillo; and 13 WHEREAS, Frank Burch protected the citizens of his home city and county 14 through his 27-year career with the Paducah Police Department; and 15 WHEREAS, Frank Burch, after retirement and for more than a decade, continued to 16 provide protection and security to all that entered Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah; and 17 WHEREAS, Frank Burch gave generously of his time and talent, working as a 18 volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul, the Community Kitchen, and Baptist Health Hospital; 19 and 20 WHEREAS, Frank Burch was the loving husband of 53 years of Nancy Burch, and 21 the proud father of Carl Hugh (Anna Lissa) Johnson, Thomas Hampton (Janna) Burch, 22 and Matthew David (Sharlee) Burch; and 23 WHEREAS, Frank Burch was the devoted brother of Phil Burch, James Burch, 24 Margaret Burch (Tommy) Worth, and the late Pat Burch; and 25 WHEREAS, Frank Burch was a proud and doting grandfather and great-26 grandfather; and 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2546 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 4/11/2024 10:08 AM Jacketed WHEREAS, Frank Burch passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on 1 April 5, 2024; 2 NOW, THEREFORE, 3 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4 Kentucky: 5 Section 1. The Senate hereby expresses its most profound sympathy to the 6 family and friends of Francis M. "Frank" Burch, and affirms that his selfless service and 7 kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of all who had the pleasure of 8 knowing him for years to come. 9 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 10 memory of Francis M. "Frank" Burch. 11 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 12 Resolution to Senator Danny Carroll for presentation to the family. 13
